The 1st Week of August is World Breastfeeding Week!


World Breastfeeding Week is designed to create discussion around the act of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is a natural part of life that needs to be normalized. Supporting breastfeeding is key to global development. It enhances nutrition, ensures food security, and reduces inequality around the world.

  • Hold a meeting about women's rights in the workplace.
  • Sign a petition to build breastfeeding-friendly environments.

International Day of World's Indigenous People - August 9th


August 9th is a day to celebrate Indigenous People Worldwide. It is also a time to educate ourselves on the genocide and assimilation of Indigenous Peoples

International Youth Day - August 12th


August 12th is all about celebrating youth! The holiday was implemented by the UN to bring attention to any cultural or legal issues involving youth.

  • Have conversations with young co-workers about how they could be better supported.

World Organ Donation Day - August 13th


This day is dedicated to celebrating the scientists and donors that make organ donation possible. One donor can save up to 8 lives by agreeing to organ donation.

  • Sign up to be an organ donor.
  • Educate yourself on the importance of organ donation.

World Humanitarian Day - August 19th


On this day, we celebrate those who have dedicated their lives to humanitarian causes. In some cases, these individuals have lost their lives fighting for human rights.

  • Ask your team members to discuss the humanitarian cause most important to them!
  • Educate yourself on a humanitarian cause you don't know much about.

International Day For The Remembrance of Slave Trade And Its Abolition - August 23rd


August 23rd is a day of remembrance. On this day, we educate ourselves on the slave trade, and how its effects are still present today.

  • Have an honest discussion with your team about racism and its current place in society.
  • Sign petitions that advocate for the rights of black people.
  • Educate yourself on the slave trade and its place in history.

Women's Equality Day - August 26th


This day was implemented to promote the rights of women around the world. Women have come a long way in terms of equality, however, there is still a lot of progress to be made.

The last day of the month is dedicated to celebrating small businesses! This day is extremely important in the world of business!
